Remembering Christopher Didcote

We are devastated to share that our dear friend and Vice President, Christopher Didcote, died on 30th December 2024, age 38.

 

Since arriving at the University of Bristol in 2005, he tirelessly dedicated himself to Manor Hall and the Association. Generations of residents, students and alumni will remember his warmth, wit, and oratory skill.

 

He was instrumental in resurrecting the Association in 2007 and served as its first Chair. For his continued service, he was nominated and appointed as an Honorary Vice President in 2014, a role he continued until the present day.

 

We share the shock and profound sadness of his friends and family and can pass on any messages of condolence.

We thought it would be nice for members and friends to share their stories of Chris and we will compile and share with his family in due course.

 

Chris' funeral was held at St Lawrence Church in Bourton on the Water on Friday 24th January and the Manor Hall Association event, which is partly to celebrate Chris' life will be on Saturday 16th August in the Manor Hall garden.
